Nasi Goreng Recipe

Nasi Goreng (meaning “fried rice” in Indonesian and Malay)  can refer simply to fried pre-cooked rice typically spiced with sweet soy sauce,  shallot, garlic, tamarind and chilli and accompanied with other ingredients such as egg, chicken and prawns. Nasi Goreng is one of the most popular rice dish in Southeast Asia which originated in Indonesia. This rice recipe is dubbed as other versions of fried rice;  a safe, delicious way to avoid wasting rice. This famous Indonesian fried rice originally made from leftover rice and eaten as a breakfast dish, but now it is also served for lunch or as the basis of a larger evening meal. Ingredients:

2 tbls sesame oil
2 cups small prawns, peeled tails removed, deveined
4 tbls sambal oelek
3 garlic clove, crushed
4 spring onions
4 cups cooked jasmine rice, cooled
3 tbls kecap manis
4 eggs
